PLAYING MANTIS DISPLAYS RUDOLPH LINE IN NY!
Our friends at Playing Mantis displayed their line of toys based on the Rankin/Bass classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at the New York Toy Fair recently. These exclusive pics show the fantastic display room that was created to showcase these great figures! These guys really know how to do R/B right! In 2001, in addition to the same figures as last year, PM plans a SANTA'S CASTLE to go with the PVC set! It will look much like the prototype seen here. Also look for a LARGER BUMBLE that roars! A very HAPPY EASTER to all! HERE COMES PETER COTTONTAIL is out on
video in an SP format this year (w/ the same poor art on the box) BUT
will see a DVD release next year (With photo cover). This Christmas
we have THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY and SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN on
DVD to look forward to. GOLDEN BOOKS will also be releasing a couple
of cartoon classic DVDs this summer: 1. UNDERDOG (Vol. 2) 2. FELIX
THE CAT (Trans-Lux version)
Speaking of SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN, we heard from ROBIE
LESTER (Voice of Jessica Kringle)! She has shared much info and photos
with us and we will be featuring her in our SPOTLIGHT section very
soon! She is going to be appearing at a LUM & ABNER festival soon,
details to follow. We will be offering a signed JESSICA photo soon
on our website! Yes, Robbie is the beautiful voice behind the song
"My World Is Beginning Today."
Another signed item we will be offering is a RARE 'RUDOLPH'
postcard signed by 'RUDOLPH' TV SPECIAL designer Tony Peters. We have
a very small amount available, so order yours quick! It is $15 +
$3.95 shipping & Handling (Insurance is optional). This postcard was
the first promo card I had printed to advertise my book, when it was
called THE WACKY WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS, in 1995. It is a super clear
copy off the transparency.
Another signed item we will be offering soon is a signed edition
of the RETURN TO OZ poster. It will be signed by DOROTHY herself,
SUSAN CONWAY. This will also be $15 + $3.95 shipping & Handling
(Insurance is optional).
We have also produced a limited-edition promo copy of THE NEW
ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO CD and will be offering a few for our Spring
raffle in May at the end of the month! Everyone who makes a purchase
gets entered in the drawing. Don't forget about our Raffle this month
for EASTER! Two winners will get the CRICKET ON THE HEARTH/'TWAS THE
NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS CD combo!
I am happy to say I finished up the 'RUDOLPH' Book rough and
shipped it off to TIGER MOUNTAIN today (03-28)! Everything is on
schedule and looking good! My NEW Promo postcards are coming tomorrow
w/ a RARE 'PUNCH & JUDY' photo on them. One goes out with every order
from our website...any product.

Lobby card (#5), A Knickerbocker Marionette of PINOCCHIO, Another
large PINOCCHIO Knickerbocker doll, Another KING KONG hand puppet
(MATTEL) and a 1964 2-page GE/RUDOLPH advertisement to auction off!
Sorry that section has been unattended to for a while....we got swamped

AGAIN, Have a Holly Jolly EASTER! Keep an eye out for the
specials THE FIRST EASTER RABBIT and THE EASTER BUNNY IS COMIN' TO
TOWN on cable. DISNEY usually airs both. WARNER BROTHERS issued THE
EASTER BUNNY IS COMIN' in a clamshell last year with EXCELLENT graphics
